NIKON AF NIKKOR 70-210mm 1:4-5.6 ZOOM LENS
A feature of this new Ai-S AF Zoom lens that may affect real life application is the use of variable aperture concept and the lens has a slightly smaller opening diaphragm at the longest end of the zoom range of f/5.6 (the diaphragm changes accordingly while you zoom). Results ? It may present a dimmer finder image as well a f-stop slower in lens speed to fight for shutter speed in your picture taking situation and a slightly restrictive of depth of field manipulation. Close focusing is marginally affected in this version as it focuses to approx. 1.2m (3.9') at MACRO and 1.5m (5') on normal setting at AF. An orange macro close focusing index line was added for such purpose.
